Day 1: Arrive Mumbai

Upon your arrival at the airport, meet our representative awaiting just kerala holidays packages outside the arrival hall, past the customs area & currency shops. Most of the international flights land late in the night and therefore nothing is planned for the day. Back at hotel after a short while our representative will brief you about your tour which starts the day after.

Beneath the chaos and the cacophonic sounds of the city lies an inebriating mix of culture, heritage, celebration and natural beauty. Mumbai is a financial powerhouse, centre of fashion and film industry and the hub of neon-lit chambers of frolic. The city allures with its wealth of Art Deco and magnificent colonial relics, grand temples, labyrinths of vibrant bazaars, horde of brand conscious malls and a pinch of soul stirring fun.


Day 2: Mumbai

Visit Gateway of India, a 26 meters high basalt arch, Gateway of India located on the seafront was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to the region in 1911. It was here at Gateway that the last British troops passed through the Gateway in a ceremony on 28th February 1948 leaving India a free country. You will set on a ferry boat ride from here to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site of Elephanta Caves in Mumbai Harbour. The exquisite rock cut architecture of the caves date back to between 5th and 8th century. Out of these the three-faceted sculpture of Lord Shiva is the most striking one.

Later visit the renowned Prince of Wales Museum. The museum is built in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture along with elements of Mughal, Maratha and Jain architecture. The museum is known primarily for housing 50,000 exhibits of ancient Indian and foreign art, archaeological and natural history. The museum houses artefacts such as miniatures, paintings, Mughal jades, silver, gold and artistic metal ware and more. The day concludes back at the hotel in Mumbai.


Day 3: Mumbai-Kochi

(Flying Time: 2 hrs)
Take the early morning flight to Cochin, arriving at your hotel there in mid-morning and spending the afternoon sightseeing. Full day sightseeing tour of Cochin will commence today post lunch. On today's sightseeing you explore St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and more. Believed to be the oldest church in India, it was built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan monks. Jewish Synagogue houses The Great Scrolls of Old Testament. The Mattancherry Palace features Kerala murals displaying Hindu temple art, portraits of former Kings of Kochi. Also watch the Chinese fishing nets in action along the sea front. Evening will come to end as you watch a Kathakali dance performance which is the precursor of major classical forms of dances of South India.


Day 4: Kochi- Munnar

(Driving Time: 3.5hrs)
Drive to Munnar, known for its natural beauty, calmness and mild cold climate. Located in the south Western Ghats of India, Munnar is a charming hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala. The land blessed with natural splendour looks dazzling with rocky peaks, rolled mountains, manicured tea gardens and soothing mountain air. Munnar is located at the confluence of Muthirappuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. The entire area with its picture book tea estates, meandering lanes, trekking and holiday options is an ideal retreat chosen by most globetrotters out on a Kerala tour. The day is at leisure.


Day 5: Munnar

The day at Munnar begins with a sumptuous breakfast and will be followed by a kerala holidays packagessightseeing tour of the picturesque environs of Munnar. Essentially a tea town, Munnar catches the visitor's attention with its refreshing aroma first and then continues to impress with its beauty and placidity. The sightseeing plan for the day includes visit to pristine Mattupetty Lake and neighbouring Swiss Livestock Project, a specialized dairy farm where about 100 varieties of high yielding cattle are reared. The breathtaking scenery of lush mountains of Rajamala is a natural habitat to estimate half the world population of Nilgiri Tahr. The region is worth paying a visit for both its enchanting flora and fauna.


Day 6: Munnar- Thekkady

(Driving Time: 3hrs)
Post breakfast check out and drive to Thekkady. Set on a jeep safari inside Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary situated on the banks of the Periyar Lake. The sanctuary is one of the biggest natural reserves in India which covers about 777 km squares. Home to myriad wild creatures this protected area lies in the middle of mountainous region of Cardamom Hills and is cradled with picturesque Periyar Lake. Animals such as elephant, sambar, gaur and wild boars and beauteous bird populations such as darters, cormorants, kingfishers and racket tailed Drongos have made the park their home. Spot these animals coming to the banks of Periyar Lake to quench their thirst while you sail on a boat in the pristine lake. Also, visit a spice plantation in the vicinity later and return to the hotel for night stay. Traverse deep inside the wilderness either on elephant rides or trek for 10 kilometres inside for a more personal encounter with the wilds under the supervision of forest department.


Day 7: Thekkady- Kumarakom

(Driving Time: 150kms/4hrs ) Proceed to Kumarakom- the charming emerald peninsula on the Vembanad Lake. Kumarakom is a scenic area where one comes across traditional country crafts, boats and canoes. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is an ornithologist's paradise for it is a favourite haunt of beauteous migratory birds such as Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal. Avid bird watchers should make plans for a visit to the park early in the morning for that is the time birds leave their nests and fly over the lake in groups creating beauteous patterns in the sky.


Day 8: Houseboat cruise

Today will be one of the most memorable experience of your tour. You journey on the clear backwaters while cruising on a traditional houseboat, Kettuvallam. This is the undoubtedly the best way to travel across Kerala backwaters for this way one gets to travel at one's own speed and thus to enjoy the pristine environs of the region completely at peace. The kettuvallams were originally used as grain barges to transport the rice grown alongside the backwaters. These traditionally furnished but comfortable houseboats are equipped with a living room and bedroom (en suite bathroom).

While sailing these canal routes you will come across scenes from everyday life at Kerala such as villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and more. Travel at your speed and let yourself loose amidst the enchanting panorama that surrounds you.


Day 9: Varkala

(Driving Time: 3.5hr)
After disembarking at Quilon in the morning you drive the short distance south to the delightful seaside town of Varkala. A beautiful beach town tucked on the Arabian Sea, Varkala is a short drive's away from Trivandrum. The beauteous beaches and picturesque panorama makes the region an ideal spot to spend a relaxed day. With a backdrop of red laterite cliffs, the main beach Papanasham Beach glistens beautifully. One can witness fishermen pulling their nets from the sea in the morning and evening. Rejoice amidst natural splendor at Varkala for an entire day.


Day 10: Varkala – Kovalam

(Driving Time: 1hr) Proceed to Kovalam. This internationally renowned beach town is a favourite haunt of tourists looking to spend laid-back vacations amidst beauteous environs. A former favourite jaunt of hippies, this tropical beach town is known for its picture perfect looks, traditional fishing villages providing a refreshing India tour experience. Day at Kovalam will be free for trying some recreational activities at the hotel.


Day 11: Kovalam

Relaxed day at Kovalam. The town known as "Paradise of South India" appears soothing to the eye with its stretches of balmy sands and endless parallel lanes of coconut groves. Day 12: Kovalam – Mumbai

(Flying Time: 2hrs) Afternoon drive to Trivandrum airport will drop you at the airport well in time for your flight to Mumbai. You will reach Mumbai late afternoon and will be transferred to the international airport for your late-night flight back home.
