ITINERARY

Day 1: Gwalior- Shivpuri

First destination of this Historical Saga of Madhya Pradesh Tour, Gwalior is the famous city of medieval hilltop fort. As you arrive this historic city you will be taken out for a sightseeing tour of the city where you will get to explore various stunning edifices, temples and forts. First on the sightseeing tour visit Gwalior Fort; built on an isolated rock in the 8th century, it is one of the biggest forts in the country. Also visit other fabulous sites such as Man Mandir, Teli ka Mandir which is one of the loftiest temples. Also visit Tombs of Tansen and Ghous Mohammed, the Jai Vilas Palace Museum and the newly built Sun Temple in the city before you head on another journey. In the evening you will proceed for Shivpuri where you will be accommodated in a scenic tourist village for overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Shivpuri- Orchha

Today in Shivpuri, take a round of the park, where the rulers hunted in the times gone by and later you visit the graceful chhatris or cenotaphs, which have withstood testimony of time and are gracious reminiscent of the mighty ruler and his queen. The architecture displays an elegant synthesis of the Mughal and Rajput style; the cenotaphs are set like jewels in formal gardens creating a fabulous display of ancient architecture. Visit the Tourist Village and then leave for Orchha, where you can stay at a palace hotel for overnight.

 

Day 3: Orchha- Jhansi- Delhi

Today commence on a tour to Orchha- the city of temples, palaces and chhatris. First on your sightseeing tour visit several palaces and temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries by rulers of Bundela clan. From one historic city to another proceed for a fascinating tour to Jhansi- the city of legendary freedom fighter, Rani Laxmibai. On arrival at Jhansi visit the historic Fort related to Rani Laxmibai. Located on the outskirts of Jhansi the magnificent Jhansi Fort was built in the year 1613 by Raja Bir Singh Deo. Finally the tour ends at Jhansi from where you will be boarding your train back to national capital- Delhi.
